Mission Statement

Onyx NY is an organization formed and operated by People of Color who enjoy the leather and fetish lifestyles. Onyx NY sets as its goals: 1) to provide an informational and social organization, which addresses issues specific to people of color, who choose to project the positive aspects of the leather & fetish lifestyles in a culturally competent manner, and 2) to support our community and economic initiatives as well as to support spirituality, safety, and saneness in social and sexual settings.

Toward this end, it is the principle aim of ONYX to nurture in it's members the highest standards of loyalty to the laws and established code of ONYX as well as to treat everyone in society with honor, unselfishness and tolerance. It is the responsibility of each member to uphold the traditions, standards and practices of this organization as well as the time honored principles of democracy on which this country was built. It is the fundamental belief of this organization that no finer means is offered for the achievement of these aims than the brotherly association of persons with similar tastes, inclinations and goals.

Our History

Onyx NY is about to enjoy its 3rd year in charter. Formed in early 2005, the group was officially chartered at the National Anniversary Event, BlackOut, in October of 2005. We currently meet on the second Sunday of every month in the NYC area.

Onyx NY is a 501(c)(7) Non-Profit Social and Recreational Club.
